The team set out to create a five story multispecialty clinic that is community based with a patient-centered care focus and hospitality style interiors. Research has shown that connection to nature improves the healing process and reduces stress. The interior design focused on creating a warm, healing environment by bringing in daylight and using natural palettes and textures. Materials selection and interior design were part of a multi-pronged approach to noise reduction for exam and treatment areas.
The oncology infusion area is oriented to take full advantage of a curved glass wall, opened to natural light and landscaping. The graceful curve of the window is echoed in the layout while the interior design complements the exterior green space, creating a calm and healing environment for oncology patients.
